Diptam Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged communities through various social initiatives. It is named after the late Mrs. Dipti Mahalanobish, the founder and the aspirer. She and her husband, the late Mr. Amalendra Mahalanobish, started these acts out of kindness and humanity. Operating in the Sundarbans region for over 10 years, the foundation has a rich history of participating in numerous social activities aimed at benefiting the underprivileged. Their efforts include educational programs, healthcare initiatives, women empowerment projects, and environmental conservation activities. The foundation’s long-standing presence in the area has fostered strong relationships with local communities, making it a trusted and impactful entity in the region. It was Mrs. Dipti Mahalanobish’s thought and motto that is being followed till date: “Do not wait for a miracle to happen to be helpful, instead use whatever resources you have in hand and utilize it to its optimum potential.”

We collect gently used laptops and desktops, refurbish them, and distribute them to students who lack access to digital education. This initiative provides essential learning tools and promotes sustainability by repurposing old technology.Â
Committed to supporting the basic needs of the community, Diptam Foundation has conducted extensive clothes distribution drives in the Sundarbans. By providing these essential items, we have significantly contributed to the well-being and comfort of numerous families, ensuring they have adequate clothing for various seasons. These efforts have not only brought relief but also fostered a sense of security and dignity among the recipients.

Our past projects also include setting up comprehensive medical camps in the Sundarbans. These camps offered check-ups, treatments, and healthcare education to the local communities, bringing much-needed medical services closer to those in need. By providing these essential healthcare services, we have significantly improved the health and well-being of many individuals and families in these remote areas.
In our endeavor to make medical services more accessible in the Sundarbans, Diptam Foundation proudly donated an ambulance. This crucial vehicle now serves as a lifeline for many, enabling timely medical assistance when needed the most. It has become an essential resource for the community, helping save lives and improving health outcomes.
The SHAKTI Taekwondo Training Centre, an initiative by the Diptam Foundation, aims to empower underprivileged children in Satjelia, Sundarbans, through self-defense training and personal development. The center focuses on providing essential Taekwondo training that not only teaches self-defense but also promotes physical fitness, discipline, and mental resilience. With professional coaching, the SHAKTI project helps children gain confidence, improve their health, and develop life skills that open future opportunities in sports, security, and public service sectors. By participating, the youth of Satjelia will be better equipped to defend themselves, stay healthy, and pursue careers that can transform their lives and uplift their community.
The Diptam Skill Development Centre is planning to launch in Satjelia, Sunderbans, with a vision to empower deprived children on the island by opening doors to new opportunities. This forward-thinking initiative aims to spread digital literacy and provide grassroots training in essential skills that promote self-sufficiency. The centre will offer a range of free and subsidized courses, including data entry, basic accounting, graphic design, video editing, and more. Our goal is to equip the youth with the tools they need to build a brighter future.
Our next project targets the establishment of medical clinics on Satjelia Island, Sundarbans, which is currently isolated from existing medical facilities. Each center will have a resident doctor, specialists on a rotational basis, and pathological collection & reporting services.
